The adidas Manchester Marathon is returning on Sunday 19th April

The adidas Manchester Marathon is returning on Sunday 19th April, following a similar route to last years edition with the start line near Old Trafford and the finish line on the iconic Oxford Road. The event is a closed road marathon which will involve some road closures in your area.
Already sold out and looking to be its biggest year to date, Manchester & Trafford will be welcoming around 40,000 participants aiming to achieve their personal goal of completing a marathon, as well as raising money for both local & national charities.
Last April 36,000 participant took part in the adidas Manchester Marathon, which raised over £4.5 million for over 799 local & national charities and also saw a £44 million boost to the local economies of Manchester and Trafford. Check out the highlights video HERE
In addition, the adidas Manchester Marathon and Manchester Half have supported a final round of community sport projects through the Trafford Moving Fund. This year, over £60,000 was raised, with £1 from every paid entry into each event helping Trafford Council fund local initiatives that strengthen Greater Manchester’s sporting legacy. Details of the community projects can be found HERE
The traffic management planning with the councils & TfGM for the event is ongoing so we will be in touch again via email early March with details on the various road closure timings. In addition, full road closure information, including an interactive map, will also be included on our website in March at https://www.manchestermarathon.co.uk/road-closure-info. However, should you have any queries or concerns at this stage please do get in touch so these can be discussed.
Please could you kindly share this information with anyone that you think the event may affect. If you have any relevant access needs, please let us know via email.
We are recruiting volunteers for a variety of roles, including marshals based right outside your business. Groups from clubs & other organised community-based groups will receive a financial donation, as well as adding to the incredible atmosphere and becoming part of the world’s friendliest marathon. For more information on volunteering (as a group or as an individual) please visit our volunteering web page www.manchestermarathon.co.uk/volunteer-faqs
Thank you for your continued support of the delivery of the event, we really appreciate it. If at this stage I can be of any further assistance then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
