About the workshops:These workshops aim to help people engage with poetry as a creative wellbeing toolfor self-expression/exploration and connect with others through art. It is a relaxedand fun workshop for all abilities, helping you improve your content, form, structure,and editing skills. The workshops will be a drop-in style, so you can attend everyweek or whenever you are able to. The workshop topics will also be influenced bythe participants’ interests.
About the facilitator:Lauren Temple is a multidisciplinary creative from Manchester. She sees herself as astoryteller, often using a narrative style that weaves fantasy with mundanity toexamine our contemporary life. Lauren’s work often focuses on queerness,feminism, and mental health. Lauren has worked with organisations such asManchester International Festival, Apples and Snakes, HOME Theatre, andManchester City of Literature. Altrincham born and bred, Lauren is passionate aboutsupporting local creatives.
About the venue:Right at the heart of Altrincham, Oyez Arts is a community arts organisation, locatedat the historic Altrincham Town Hall. Our workshops will be located in their StamfordRooms, an inspiring space with beautiful stained-glass windows and artwork liningthe walls. Teas and coffees will be available during the workshop at an extra £1. Thevenue has a ramp access and disabled toilets. The venue is a short walk fromAltrincham metrolink and with nearby carparks available.
