This workshop will guide you through the essentials of editing photos with confidence. By the end, you’ll have a solid foundation in Lightroom. This workshop is designed for people who have outgrown simpler editing apps like Snapseed or their phone’s native editing tools and want to take their edits to the next level. This hands-on session on Lightroom breaks down the basics, giving you a solid foundation in importing, organising, and editing so you can confidently start using it.
No prior experience with Lightroom is needed.
Prior to the workshop you will need to…
1. Sign up for an Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan at Adobe’s website for £11.

2. Download and install Lightroom (not Lightroom Classic) on your laptop.
3. Download Lightroom Mobile (free with optional premium features) on your smartphone or tablet from the App Store or Google Play.
4. Have a folder of 10 images (RAW or JPEG) ready to import and edit during the session.
What you will learn:How to organise photos.
Basic Editing: White Balance. Exposure, Contrast, Highlights, Shadows. Whites and Blacks sliders. Vibrance, and Saturation. Texture and Clarity.
Essential Tools: Cropping and Straightening: Aspect ratios and composition.
Healing Tool: Removing small distractions (dust spots, blemishes).
Masking Basics: Using the Lightroom masking tools for selective adjustments.
Using Built-in Presets.
Exporting and sharing your edited images.
Lightroom Classic will also be demonstrated at the end of the workshop so that you can see the key differences and feel confident to move to that version in the future.
