Toast is Celebrating Seven Years of Businesses with a New Menu: ‘Best of Toast’

From Friday 4th October, Toast is celebrating its seventh birthday on their little corner of  Stamford New Road in Altrincham with an interesting new menu, bringing back iconic dishes from the last seven years, chosen by the staff and regular customers.

Known in the neighbourhood for their welcoming atmosphere and unique concept of everything being served on toast, guests at Toast choose what sort of toast they would like their preferred dish to be served on, choosing between white bloomer, wholemeal sourdough, rye bread and the ‘special’  bread, usually featuring two main flavours, which changes regularly.

The new menu consists of seven mains on toast, two salads, a breakfast dish,  and the soup of the day shall remain a staple. General Manager Jordan Ette commented

“We’re really excited to be bringing back some fantastic dishes loved by both our staff and our many regular customers. Since we came up with this menu idea, we have been secretly researching by asking our regular customers, who have been with us for the last seven years, what their favourite dishes have been. Our concept is simple, but we always try to keep things interesting with diverse flavours and creative recipes using seasonal ingredients from local suppliers. We feel the dishes we’ve decided to bring back for this menu perfectly encapsulate that.”

Showcasing the most loved dishes over the last seven years, favourites include the smoked mackerel pâtê, accompanied by a gooseberry jam and pickled cucumber, paired perfectly with a glass of white wine for lunch.

Other fish based dishes include the cod loin served on a bed of smashed minted peas, spiced garlic, bok choy and artichokes, and the crayfish salad. Originally served on toast and modified a couple of years later, this refreshing salad atop mixed leaves, tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, paprika sriracha mayo and house dressing has a little chilli kick to round it off.

New to the vegetarian section of the menu is the vegetarian chilli con carne, made up of butternut squash, carrot, chickpeas, kidney beans and celery in a spicy housemade sauce topped with a zesty guacamole. A classic greek salad is also available that guests have previously enjoyed as an individual meal or table sharer.

A favourite amongst the staff is the Chorizo and Potato Hash, complete with spring onion, spinach, tomatoes and topped with a gooey fried egg, it works as a choice for both breakfast and lunch. The chefs at Toast create their seasonal menus taking inspiration from international cuisines, the ‘Best of Toast’ menu features a Keema lamb dish with Middle Eastern flavours, created using hummus, pomegranate, peas, mint yoghurt and spiced lamb on flatbread. Furthermore, they have re-introduced the Jerk Chicken, a Caribbean staple with pickled onion, gem lettuce and traditional jerk sauce.

Finally, they have brought back two indulgent dishes perfect for the colder months. The Beef Brisket is slow roasted before being loaded into a hearty toasted Ciabatta with melted cheese, served with a side of coleslaw and homemade ale gravy dip. Back on the breakfast menu is the Truffle Cheese, a classic British favourite of cheese on toast, elevated with truffle oil and a fried egg.

The new menu is available from Friday 4th October.
