Stamford Quarter Welcomes Scandinavian Boutique

SKANDA Clothing has opened its doors

  • Local entrepreneur brings new independent boutique to the high street
  • Including Brands With A Strong Sustainability Message

SKANDA Clothing has opened its doors in the Stamford Quarter bringing a range of beautiful sustainable Scandinavian clothing and accessories to the Altrincham high street.

The independent boutique is the latest business to join the burgeoning community of stores and brands that are transforming the high street in this exciting corner of Altrincham. It brings with it a renowned Scandi style with its timeless pieces and conscious brands and complements the existing businesses and the Not So Secret Garden social hub.

The store is the brainchild of Altrincham-based Laura Sharrock, a local solicitor, whose lifelong passion for fashion led to her to developing the SKANDA brand in her spare time before finally taking the plunge into a permanent store.

SKANDA’s focus is on responsible fashion and will bring a carefully curated selection of brands with a shared ethos to the high street including Woden, Studio EBN and Coster Copenhagen. All of these labels are known for their efforts in working towards sustainability, especially with their use of recycled materials.

Commentating on the launch Laura said:

“Altrincham is a renowned thriving market town with plenty of other independent businesses in the area and being situated in the bustling Stamford Quarter is the perfect location to launch SKANDA.  We can’t wait to join the local retail community and welcome customers to our gorgeous new retail space.”

James Tootle, Head of Retail at  Bruntwood Works added:

“We're delighted to be supporting SKANDA with their first bricks and mortar store on the high street. As a local, independent and sustainable fashion brand, Laura and her team will make a brilliant addition to the neighbourhood and perfectly support our vision for a diverse and thriving town centre with the local community at its heart.  As the plans for the redevelopment of the former Rackhams start to take shape, SKANDA complements the roster of independent and well known brands that are helping shape the future of the Stamford Quarter.  Following on from the success of the Pop Up concept the retail offering is going from strength to strength."
