Stamford Quarter Launches Community Mural and Poem Project ‘Sketch SQ’

Altrincham’s retail and leisure destination, the Stamford Quarter, is launching a brand new community mural and co-created poem project just in time for summer. ‘Sketch SQ’ will bring together local artists Kirsty Gbasai and Rick Eade who, with the help of the community, will create a brand new mural and comic strip trail that will be unveiled this summer.

The Sketch SQ mural and comic strip trail will be co-created by local residents and visitors who attend one of the FREE workshopping sessions on Saturday 25th May from 1pm-3pm or Thursday 30th May from 2pm-5pm. Workshop attendees will have their likeness caricatured and words brought to life, with any age welcome to attend this fun and interactive session.

Tickets can be booked via Eventbrite.

Sketch SQ has been created as part of the Stamford Quarter’s ‘Summer of Play’ campaign, a summer-long programme of events that will celebrate the completion of redevelopment works with fun activities designed to spark joy and excitement. From comedy nights and mural painting to live music and bowling, each event announced will be focused around fun and adventure at the Stamford Quarter this summer.

More information on the ‘Summer of Play’ can be found here, with more events set to be announced over the coming months.
