RunThrough Returns for Third Annual Altrincham 10k which is set to attract 2500 runners

On 17th September 2023 RunThrough will return to Altrincham for the third running of the Altrincham 10k following the success of the event in both 2021 and 2022. This year’s event is expected to attract 2,500 runners all of whom will be taking to the closed roads of Altrincham to challenge themselves whether chasing a PB on the flat, fast course or completing their very first 10k.
The 2023 Altrincham 10k will start and finish in the town centre of Altrincham. Accurate and clearly visible distance and route markers will be placed throughout the course as well as there being marshals along the entirety of the route to keep runners on track and provide encouragement from start to finish. Participants will receive a unique themed medal, be able to access their official result immediately after crossing the finish line via the RunThrough Results page as well as full and free access to event photography.
RunThrough – also the organisers of the nearby Warrington Running Festival, the world’s first free to enter closed road and chip timed running festival – are on a mission to inspire a more active nation through running and the provision of quality, inclusive event experiences for runners of all ages and abilities. The Altrincham 10k will be no exception, which will be sure to deliver RunThrough’s unmatchable warm and welcoming environment that they are known for.

Ben Green, Co-Founder of RunThrough, commented: “We are delighted to be returning to Altrincham for a third consecutive year and building on the success of the previous year’s events to become a regular fixture of the Altrincham event scene. We are extremely grateful to Trafford Council for their support and collaboration, enabling us to put on what is set to be a fantastic event. We can’t wait to welcome all of the runners who will be taking part no matter if this will be their first or fiftieth time running a 10k.”
Cllr Cath Hynes, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Leisure, Arts, Culture and Heritage, said: “We’re always happy to work with partners like RunThrough. The Altrincham 10k will be a fantastic event to watch but even better to take part in. It will be a great way to keep fit and challenge yourself, and runners can also raise money for a great cause at the same time.”
It was announced earlier this year that The Christie Charity will be the Official Charity Partner for the Altrincham 10k. The Christie charity exists to ensure cancer patients at The Christie receive the highest level of treatment and care and have access to world leading research and equipment. If you would like to fundraise and support the incredible work that The Christie Charity do, you can select the option to run for charity during the registration process.
With just under a month to go until the Altrincham 10k registration remains open and anyone wishing to run can enter here. Runners need not worry if they have not been training as there is still plenty of time to lace up and get in some preparation runs before race day and the post race medal, goodies and feelings of pride and achievement will undoubtedly be worth the effort.
