Myers La Roche: 40 Years of Trusted Healthcare Consultancy
‘Then and Now’ – shining a spotlight on the businesses that have called Altrincham home for 10 years or more.
Founded in 1985 by Patrick Myers, Myers La Roche has grown into one of the most respected specialist healthcare consultancies in the UK. Built on experience, integrity, and a deep understanding of the independent optical sector, the business has spent four decades supporting professionals in buying, building, and selling their practices.
The company’s strong leadership foundation was established further when Dominic Watson joined the business in 2000, later becoming co-owner in 2006. Together, Patrick and Dom helped shape Myers La Roche into the only consultancy in the UK solely dedicated to the independent optical sector.
In 2016, Myers La Roche proudly celebrated 10 years as a limited company, having previously operated as a partnership. At the same time, Georgie Myers marked a decade with the business and stepped into a leadership role as director, representing the next generation of the company’s future.
Back then, the seven-person team worked from a characterful office on Regent Road, a maze-like space above an opticians that perfectly reflected the company’s niche expertise. From there, Myers La Roche continued to build a trusted reputation among independent practice owners across the UK.

The team in 2016
Fast forward to 2026, and the story is one of growth, resilience, and evolution.
Following the celebration of its 40th anniversary in 2025, Myers La Roche continues to build on its legacy with ambition and energy. The company has expanded both physically and strategically, relocating offices twice within the same close-knit community and now proudly operating from offices above NatWest in the heart of Altrincham.
In March 2020, Georgie Myers officially took over Patrick Myers’ shareholding, leading the business into a new chapter. During one of the most challenging periods in recent history, Georgie and Dom successfully guided the company through the uncertainty of lockdown while continuing to support clients and protect the future of the business. Patrick, who had originally planned a gradual retirement, embraced a well-earned full retirement during this time.
Innovation has remained central to the Myers La Roche journey. The introduction of Audiology services in 2019 marked the first step in broadening the company’s healthcare expertise, followed by the launch of Podiatry in 2024, creating valuable synergies across eyes, ears, and feet.
The company’s greatest strength has always been its people. While one long-standing team member recently moved on after 18 years to pursue a dream life on the Cornish coast, the business has continued to grow and now employs 13 dedicated professionals. Combining in-office collaboration with remote working, Myers La Roche remains committed to nurturing local talent and maintaining a supportive, high-performing culture.
In March 2026, Georgie took full ownership of the business, buying out Dominic Watson 18 months ahead of schedule. Although Dom remains an important part of the team for now, the transition marks the beginning of another exciting era for the company.

With four decades of heritage behind it and bold ambitions for the future, Myers La Roche continues to stand as a trusted partner for those shaping the future of independent healthcare.
Altrincham has become one of the North West’s most established commuter business towns, and Myers La Roche has no plans to move away from the vibrant community it proudly calls home. With a strong local talent pool on its doorstep and growing connections through initiatives such as Altrincham BID, the company values the relationships it continues to build with fellow local businesses.
As Myers La Roche looks toward the next decade, the future feels brighter than ever, firmly rooted in the heart of Altrincham and driven by the same values that have guided the business since 1985.
