Mchale & Co Solicitor’s Cycle of Life Project

The Cycle of Life Project came into being in October 2020. The aim of the Cycle of Life Project is to distribute second hand bikes within the community.
One of our Directors, Adam Horner, was inspired by the work that we do for compensation claims for injured cyclists through our specialist bike claim department, Two Wheel Claims. Damaged bikes are often an economic write off and successful claimants are provided with payments to cover the cost of purchasing a new bike rather than repair their damaged one.
Our in-house repair engineer, Dan, suggested to Adam that some of the damaged bikes could be repaired to a safe standard, albeit sometimes a bit battered and bruised!
And so, in October 2020 we started the Cycle of Life Project, initially inviting our clients to donate their damaged bikes. Following a successful social media campaign, we have since been overwhelmed by the generosity of the communities of Trafford, Warrington and beyond. To date, we have donated over 200 bikes to local charities.

The Cycle of Life Project is now partnering with other local businesses, including The Bicycle Society and Stamford Cycles.
Our Cycle of Life Project has really taken off. Recycling unwanted bikes, collecting, cleaning, repairing, servicing and delivering at our cost to charities and worthy nominees. We have donated over 200 bikes in the last 2 years to charities such as Wood Street Mission, Coffee4Craig, Ronald McDonald House, Mustard Tree, Moss Side Millenium Powerhouse as well as to other people in need such as Ukrainian refugees, children’s shelters, people struggling with mental health who reached out to us for ask for a bike so they could get out and about.
