Maguire Family Law Celebrates International Women’s Day 2023 With Launch Of Mentoring Programme For Local Women

As a predominantly female-led business, Greater Manchester and Cheshire-based Maguire Family Law is a strong advocate for International Women’s Day, with 78 per cent of its employees being women. To celebrate the annual event that takes place on 8th March, Maguire Family Law is launching a mentoring programme to support one local woman at the beginning of their career.

The boutique law firm which is a leading divorce and family practice specialising in complex pre-and post-nuptial agreements, domestic and international divorce proceedings and private children matters, is made up of a team of experts with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry. Utilising this experience, Maguire Family Law will be providing the chosen candidate with the opportunity to have tailored one-to-one quarterly mentoring with the law firm’s talented team. Over the duration of 12 months, Maguire Family Law’s skilful team will provide insight and actionable advice on a range of topics, including interview practice, CV workshops and career progression mentorship.

Maguire Family Law prides itself on offering equal career opportunities for all team members, including women. Eimear Maguire, Director at Maguire Family Law, says: “International Women’s Day is something we are incredibly proud to support. At Maguire Family Law, we offer a defined career pathway to our employees, dedicated to their individual growth and development. We want to harness this passion and offer local Manchester and Cheshire residents the opportunity to utilise our team’s experience and to support a woman who is at the beginning of their career journey.”

“We work hard to create a working environment that supports our team members to work flexibly wherever possible, whether this is adapting to allow for working part-time due to family commitments or supporting team members to work around childcare requirements wherever possible. As a woman, I am passionate about encouraging other women to reach their full potential within their career and am proud to be an employer in the region that truly does offer equal opportunities and to be providing a local with the chance to succeed in their own career too – whichever sector this may be in.”

The firm is proud to represent women in the industry, with three out of five (60%) Directors at Maguire Family Law being female. A figure far above the average percentage of women in senior leadership roles in the United Kingdom at 41% in 2022. Maguire Family Law is also proud to have women in many senior roles across the business, including one female partner, two women associates out of three, and an Office Manager. The business is a great success story for women in the legal sector, and Maguire Family Law is always on the hunt for strong candidates that fit within the firm’s ethics and culture.

The mentorship programme is open to women looking to begin a career in any sector or industry, with applications opening on International Women’s Day (8th March).
