Judge’s Choice Winners Announced in The Brit Fest Window Competition

Altrincham’s shopfronts are bursting with colour and creativity for The Brit Fest Window Competition — and today, we’re thrilled to reveal the winners of the Judge’s Choice award, selected by none other than Barry Purves, acclaimed animator and Head of Design at the Altrincham Garrick Playhouse.

Barry, an Oscar and BAFTA-nominated filmmaker, took on the task of judging this year’s entries and was delighted by the variety and imagination on display.

“I very much enjoyed judging the windows,” said Barry. “There was a wonderful amount of effort and colour across the town. In the end, I chose two winners for very different reasons.”

Joint winners of the Judge’s Choice award are:

  • Heritage Healthcare, whose striking and eye-catching display featured hay bales and a bold concept that truly stood out on the high street.
  • Randalls Jewellers, chosen for what Barry described as “the sheer force of personality — it makes you want to stay and look around the shop.” The red, white and blue theme was beautifully carried through the entire display, from the mannequins to the jewellery.

Barry also selected a runner-up: Share Your Story, a new venue in town that made a lasting impression. “It immediately made me want to share my own story,” Barry commented. “I loved the concept of the shop and look forward to collaborating with them in the future.”

Barry also gave a special mention to Gift+Home and Art with a Heart.

With the Judge’s Choice now announced, it’s your turn to have your say! Voting is now open for the People’s Choice award, so be sure to cast your vote for your favourite window display, by simply liking your favourite on Facebook, and help us celebrate the businesses that bring colour and character to Altrincham.
