Bruntwood Sponsors Altrincham BID’s Netwalking 2024 Programme

Bruntwood is sponsoring Altrincham BID’s 2024 Netwalking programme.
The first walk will take place on Monday 13th May. Joseph Rouse and Richard Rowlands from I Want Plants will be talking about the Green Wall on the side of the Foundation building in the Stamford Quarter, which is designed to improve Altrincham’s air quality, reducing noise pollution as well as increasing the biodiversity of the area.
Launched by Altrincham BID, Netwalking is a well-established firm favourite of local businesses and Altrincham BID first launched Netwalking in May 2019. Attendees can walk and talk with other Altrincham businesses, meet new people, make new business contacts, and improve their health and wellbeing at the same time. When it launched it was an innovative concept which has now been replicated in many other places.
The attendees will meet at Foundation’s reception at 12.25pm with the walk starting at 12.30pm and finishing at 1.15.pm. The walk encompasses the opportunity to learn about Foundation’s Hyvert living wall and will include a walk to one of the green spaces on the outskirts of the town.
The schedule for 2024 is:
- Monday 13th May talking biodiversity with I Want Plants
- Monday 10th June talking Wellness with Gareth Wilkins, Head of Retail Operations at Bruntwood and Dr Richard Nickson, Programme Director for Cycling and Walking at Transport for Greater Manchester

James Tootle, Head of Retail & Leisure at Bruntwood, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring Altrincham Netwalking for a second year and launching it in National Walking Month which takes place in May. The team are looking forward to talking and walking with the guests and businesses that accompany us. Last year was a great success and it’s testament to all the hard work of the teams at Visit Altrincham and Bruntwood in creating such a popular and topical networking event that takes in the local scenery.”
Mandy White Altrincham BID Director added: “We’re all aware of the positive impact of leaving your desk at lunchtime, not only for boosting productivity but also for creating the mental space necessary for generating new ideas. The Netwalking format offers an informal opportunity for businesses to meet one another often resulting in some great collaborations. We have seen the BID’s Netwalking events grow in popularity since 2019 with Altrincham’s business community wholeheartedly seizing the opportunity to join these monthly walks. We look forward to working in partnership with Bruntwood who are sponsoring this year’s Netwalking events and thank you to them for their support”.
