Altrincham’s Very Own Festival, The Brit Fest, Shortlisted in Three Major North West Awards

Altrincham’s very own festival, The Brit Fest, has been shortlisted in three categories at the North West Family Business Awards 2026, further cementing its status as one of the region’s standout success stories.

Now firmly established as Altrincham’s largest music event, and one of the fastest growing festivals in the UK, The Brit Fest continues to make a significant impact both locally and across the North West.

Taking place at Ashley Hall Showground, just minutes from the town centre, the festival has quickly become a major summer attraction, drawing thousands of visitors into Altrincham and the wider Cheshire area.

This year, the festival has been shortlisted in:

  • Leisure & Tourism
    • Social Impact Award – Large Business
    • People’s Choice Award

The Leisure & Tourism nomination reflects the festival’s role in driving inbound visitors, with attendees travelling from across the region and beyond, boosting footfall for local hotels, restaurants, bars and independent businesses.

The Social Impact Award recognises the festival’s commitment to giving back, including its ongoing partnership with Seashell, its support for local suppliers, and its focus on creating opportunities for volunteers and inclusive experiences.

The People’s Choice Award is determined by public vote and highlights the strength of the festival’s growing community, with local residents and returning visitors at the heart of its success.

Co Founder Anthony Prophet said
“To build something of this scale here in Altrincham means a lot to us. The town has such a strong sense of identity and community, and we’ve felt that support from the very beginning.”

Festival Director Edward Prophet added
“We’re incredibly proud to be flying the flag for Altrincham on a regional stage. This recognition shows that you can create something nationally significant right here, and bring real benefit back into the local area.”

Since launching in 2024, The Brit Fest has grown rapidly, becoming not only a key date in the North West events calendar but also a major contributor to the local economy, supporting businesses and showcasing everything the area has to offer.

With excellent transport links and a thriving town centre just moments away, the festival offers a rare opportunity to experience an event of this scale within walking distance of Altrincham itself.

As the 2026 edition approaches, this latest recognition highlights both the festival’s continued growth and the important role Altrincham now plays as a destination for major live events.
