Altrincham to host town wide art exhibition with Trafford College
Altrincham BID, who produce VisitAltrincham.com, will be supporting Trafford College’s art students for a fortnight from Friday 23rd June to 7th July with a town wide display of their work.
The artwork will form a town centre art gallery in the windows of businesses and shops. Each piece of work will be accompanied by information and a QR code which will allow visitors to find out more and view the online digital gallery on Trafford College’s website. Altrincham BID has also created a map highlighting the businesses where artwork is being hosted. The map will be hosted on VisitAltrincham.com.
Jane Andrew, Head of Art & Design at Trafford College explained, “We’re pleased to be working with Altrincham BID and the town’s businesses again this year, building on a project which was started during Covid when we were unable to host the exhibition physically. We really appreciate the support of Altrincham’s businesses with it.
By visiting the college’s town wide art show you’ll be able to get a real sense of the fantastic quality of work that has been produced this year by our students. The work on show is a sample of just what can be achieved on a creative art course, and we are extremely proud of this year’s students who as ever have been bold and ambitious in their work”.
Mandy White, Altrincham’s BID Manager said, “It’s an absolute pleasure to work with Trafford College and the town’s businesses on this project. We would encourage everyone to come and have a look at the artwork, and we know the event will be well supported by the community, visitors and the students’ family and friends. The college is an important part of our town and it’s great to be able to celebrate the talent nurtured within it. We would especially like to thank the businesses who are supporting this project by hosting pieces of art”.
The exhibition will be available for visitors to view from 23rd June- 7th July, and participating businesses are dotted throughout the town from Ashley Road to Church Street, and everywhere in between.
