On Sunday 14th April the adidas Manchester Marathon will return to the area. The event is a closed road marathon which will involve some road closures in your area.
Manchester & Trafford will be welcoming around 32,00 participants aiming to achieve their personal goal of completing a marathon, as well as raising money for both local & national charities.
Last April 28,000 people took part in the adidas Manchester Marathon, which raised over £2.8 million for over 634 local & national charities. The event also saw a £21 million boost to the local economy.
The traffic management planning with the councils & TfGM for the event is ongoing, but we can confirm that the route will be similar to the 2023 event.
We will be in touch again via email early March with details on the various road closure timings. In addition, full road closure information, including an interactive map, will also be included on our website in March. However, should you have any queries or concerns at this stage please do get in touch so these can be discussed.
You can find more information about the event including, should you be interested, how to enter, or how to volunteer at the event at www.manchestermarathon.co.uk
They are recruiting volunteers for a variety of roles, including marshals based right outside your business. Groups from clubs & other organised community-based groups will receive a financial donation, as well as adding to the incredible atmosphere and becoming part of the world's friendliest marathon.
