Circle Funerals is an independent, family-run funeral directors based in Altrincham. Led by husband-and-wife team Jeremy and Sara, we support families across Altrincham, Bowdon, Hale, Hale Barns, Timperley, Sale and the wider South Manchester and Cheshire community.
We believe funerals should feel reflective of the person who has died and supportive for those who are grieving. That means creating space for families to talk, to be heard, and to make choices at their own pace.

Our Story
We founded Circle Funerals in 2022 to offer a different kind of funeral care: calm, flexible, and truly person-led. From 2022 to 2025, we operated under the name Full Circle Funerals Partners Altrincham as part of a small independent franchise network, but we have always been owned and run locally by ourselves. In 2025, we stepped forward as Circle Funerals, continuing the same trusted care in our own name.
Both of us bring professional backgrounds rooted in listening, support, and care. Sara trained as a solicitor before retraining as a psychotherapist. Jeremy worked in HR and recruitment for 20 years before becoming a funeral director. Together, we work directly with every family, personally answering calls, welcoming visitors, and being present at every stage.
Our Values
At Circle Funerals, our approach is grounded in four principles:
- Compassionate and responsive – listening carefully and responding with warmth and clarity.
- Flexible and person-centred – arrangements shaped around the person and what matters most to their family.
- Quietly professional – thoughtful attention to detail from the first call through to the funeral day.Independent and rooted in the community
- Family-run, approachable, and connected across Trafford and South Manchester.
Our Space
Our premises on Ashley Road in Altrincham are intentionally different from what many expect of a funeral director. Light, calm and welcoming, the space helps people feel more at ease when they visit. We’re equally happy to meet people at home or somewhere else they feel comfortable.
Community & Recognition
Funeral care is also about community. Sara volunteers with Cruse as a bereavement supporter, and we run educational events and wellbeing sessions locally. We also manage a Forever Manchester Fund, which supports grassroots projects across South Manchester, including Sale, Wythenshawe, Partington, Didsbury, Old Trafford and Stretford.
We’re proud to have been recognised both locally and nationally for our work:
- Business of the Year – Altrincham & Sale Chamber of Commerce Awards 2024
- Bereavement Support Award – Good Funeral Awards 2023
- Finalist, Funeral Director of the Year 2024
- Accredited by the Good Funeral Guide
- Members of SAIF (The National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors)
What Families Say
Families often describe our service as calm, refreshing, and sensitive to their personal wishes. One family told us:
“Jeremy and Sara were perfect from our first meeting to the bereavement support they advised on after our mother’s funeral. Sensitive and respectful throughout, we really appreciated the suggestions they made regarding arrangements and they were attentive to all our requests.”
We see funeral care as a privilege: being alongside people at one of the most significant times in their lives.
