The newly redesigned centre, branded as move Altrincham, is set to open in early 2025. It will feature a 25-metre swimming pool, a 20-metre learner pool, and a pool pod to improve accessibility. Visitors can enjoy a combined lobby area with pool viewing and MOST Bakery café, a wet village changing area, an inclusive Changing Places toilet, and a stunning health and wellbeing The Cove spa.

Additional facilities will include a wellness assessment room, an expanded fitness suite, dedicated fitness and dry changing areas, two flexible studio spaces, an immersive indoor cycle studio, a four-court sports hall with storage, a gymnastics hub, staff rooms, and offices.

What’s especially exciting is that Move Altrincham will replace its fossil fuel (gas) heating system with air source heat pumps and solar panels. These significantly more sustainable energy solutions align with Trafford Council’s action plan to become carbon neutral by 2038.
