The new Visit Altrincham App launched in February 2026. This will be a single, integrated platform bringing together residents, visitors and businesses. Through the app, users will be able to explore events and offers, access local services, and engage more easily with everything happening in Altrincham.
The app comprises of a town-branded smartphone app for iOS and Android. As an Altrincham BID business you will be able to do things like list your business, events and offers; send in-app messages to specific groups of consumers; be included in a range of automated promotional emails and alerts.

Visit Altrincham is a Digital Town Hub which helps local organisations and businesses to communicate more effectively with residents and visitors. Digital Town Hubs are owned and managed by local people. They provide a community-powered alternative to social media, delivery and large ecommerce platforms.
The App has been installed specifically for Altrincham. Residents and visitors download the Visit Altrincham app for Apple and Android smartphones for free and sign-up. Meanwhile, businesses and local organisations receive an email invite from Visit Altrincham to register for access to their business dashboard. The dashboard allows businesses to add content to the app and participate in the hub. Business users can also login to the app to receive additional business-related content.
The Visit Altrincham App is funded by Altrincham BID. Local businesses and organisations that are BID members receive access to their business dashboard for free

Yes, the Visit Altrincham app is completely free to download.
The Visit Altrincham Digital Town Hub needs to collect personal data to make local recommendations to you. When you sign up, you are asked for your name, age, title and postcode together with some information about your interests. From time-to-time, the app checks your location. You can opt to turn location monitoring off in the normal way on your phone but this will limit some of the features of the app.
The data is owned by Altrincham BID on behalf of the local community. Loqiva, the company that provides the digital town hub, processes the data on behalf of Altrincham BID.
The platform has been developed around the principle of using data ethically. All data is stored securely in the UK. The data that’s displayed on the Visit Altrincham app is aggregated and anonymised. We encrypt data in transit, and all processes undertaken by the platform to serve you personalised content are done so privately and autonomously.
We hope you won’t, but of course if you feel the need to delete your account, you can do so on the app at any time. When you delete your account then all the data personally identifiable to you is instantly erased from Visit Altrincham.

The Visit Altrincham app creates a ready-made local market of potential customers for your business. Our app users tend to be people who care about their town and local community. You can build a relationship with them using tools like business listings, events, offers, notifications and geoalerts on your business dashboard.
You can have the option to add offers that will show to all members of the public and offers that will only be shown B2B. When you add an offer, you simply select the right type, e.g. ‘Business Only Offer’ from the drop-down menu.
Each BID business can create a unique promo code for their staff members. Employees enter this code when they download the app. Once the code is verified, the user’s account is linked to that business and they can see exclusive B2B offers in the offers section, alongside public offers. Businesses stay in full control. They can remove access for anyone who no longer works for them and issue new promo codes for new staff, ensuring only current, local employees can view B2B offers
